Starting tomorrow there will be somes big changes at Scenelog and I think it's for the better. First off the main file host used will be changed to Bitshare (BS). I know most of you don't like this and that Rapidshare seems to be quite popular, but this is a vital change to keep this site running. Also Rapidshare can't be trusted anymore, they will promptly give up member's info if requested. BS offers many benefits, particularly regarding upload speeds, and even allows the creation of voucher codes which will be used in the future to reward visitors with free premium accounts. If for some reason uploading to Bitshare is being slow, another host will be used to replace BS temporarily. Other minor changes are:
- Releases size limit will be raised to 20 GB (was 5 GB). - TV Shows will always be released unrared, unless they are > 2 GB (max upload size at Bitshare). - New sections added, XXX and eBooks (old news). - Big Games and Apps releases will be split in 2 GB parts (was 1 GB). - All ads will be removed (BS banner it's not really an ad :P). - Much better pre times.
Unfortunately that’s not possible because of bandwidth constraints. Also if a RS mirror were available, no one would use BS. Btw, a BS premium account it’s actually cheaper than RS’s. The only downside of BS is the annoying recaptcha for free users.
I have bitshare premium account but it downloads much slower than rapidshare (1-2 mb/s maximum) , rapidshare gives me full speed @ 5mb/s but anyway, I think it would be a good idea to switch to bitshare as it keeps the website running.
@Abyssus Rapidshare is the only best one if you pay for premium, also zippyshare is the best free host out there right now. Gives maximum download speeds and you don’t need to pay for nothing.
Rapidshare is faster for european users as their servers are located in Europe. Bitshare will probably be faster for american users, their servers are somewhere in Texas. As for Zippyshare they only allow 200 MB maximum file size, but I may consider it in the future as a mirror for smaller releases if they really are that good for free users.
That article is almost 1 month old and you didnt stop rs from that time..Also you were trying rapidgator and all of the sudden you announced bitshare…well its your site its your choice and what you think its best…you might lose some visits but you will gain other
I’m sure that there are thousands and thousands of people who are grateful for you hard work here. This site is my regular and I would say in top 3 scene-info sites I visit daily. All I (we) want is some clean hoster, without captcha bullshit and as fast as it could be because all hosters are slow these days. Also, you need to bare in mind that there are great portion of free users out there using your site as a resource for their tv-shows or whatever and you should keep them in mind while deciding your main hoster. @kkk, I found the article only a few days ago and got a bit alarmed that they could give up (my) info to authorities so easily. Anyway, that wasn’t the main reason, it was all about running costs, right now the bill is all coming out from one guy’s pocket. Yes I was trying Rapidgator in the last few weeks and gave up, they are too unreliable, Bitshare has a much better infrastructure.
@SkZ, I took a look at Filefactory and I liked it, very professional-looking and great upload/download speeds. I may choose it as mirror in the future. :)
@Abyssus, thanks. Although only Bitshare is used now, we will add mirrors in the future, we just need more traffic because with every new file host traffic increaes by 1/3.
BS is worthless for us in the US, downloads very slow if it works at all for free user. RS was the main draw of your site for me. Playing the jumping from host to host game will attract some new users for a while (till the next new hot host comes around) but will alienate the more loyal everyday user. Thanks for all your hard work in the past, & GL to you, but I’ll be moving on.
I don’t mind bitshare, I have a zevera account and currently rapidshare is offline to them so it’s good for me. I think this is the fastest release site on the web so I will be buying a premium bs account as soon as my zevera account expires. Keep up the good work!
pls add rapidshare or netload as mirrors, if you want to monetize from rapidshare links use adf.ly to protect the links + $$$$ pls, pls ,add rapidshare or netload links

Came here and was delighted to see that you used rapidshare as a hoster. I’ve been using rapidshare for years and always get max speeds out of it.

@martii, because Rapidshare upload speed has been slow in the last few days. It’s still a bit slow but it should get better.
